Role Overview

Airbyte is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Data Team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure to support our product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines using Airbyte.
  • Develop and optimize data models, transformations, and visualizations using dbt, BigQuery, Metabase, and Metaplane.
  • Analyze data to provide insights on product performance, customer behavior, financial metrics, and other key areas.
  • Create dashboards and reports that provide stakeholders with the necessary data to make informed decisions.
  • Actively use our own product, providing valuable feedback to the product team to help improve the Airbyte platform.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and function leads to understand data needs, deliver insights, and support product development initiatives.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data analysis, with a strong focus on building and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in dbt, BigQuery, Metabase, Metaplane, or similar tools. Experience with ELT processes and data integration tools is essential.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and experience in designing and optimizing data models for analytics.
  • Expertise in analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data-related issues and optimize data processes.
  • Ensuring data accuracy and integrity in all outputs.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance in large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
