Job Overview

The Benefits Renewal Manager plays a pivotal role in guiding Business Benefits Group's clients through their annual benefits renewal process. This position oversees pre-renewal workflows, implements insurance carrier renewal strategies, manages open enrollment procedures, and fosters strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients throughout the annual benefits renewal process, including pre-renewal workflows and open enrollment, ensuring a seamless and error-free experience.
  • Develop and execute insurance carrier renewal strategies aligned with client needs and objectives, providing expert consultation on insurance plans and benefits.
  • Create comprehensive renewal spreadsheet analyses for each client, ensuring accuracy and clarity, to inform decision-making.
  • Promote transparency and clear communication by preparing and distributing renewal documents, such as benefits guides for open enrollment meetings.
  • Nurture client relationships by understanding their goals and objectives for their benefit plans, providing personalized support and guidance.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries via phone or email regarding the renewal process, addressing concerns and providing information as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with insurance carriers regarding client renewals and policy confirmations, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Ensure data integrity by updating internal systems with accurate renewal notes and information, maintaining compliance and accuracy.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts by assisting in creating kits for open enrollment meetings, promoting clients' benefits and services.
  • Support team members during peak periods or absences, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A solid understanding of employee benefits programs, including knowledge of various benefit types, compliance with relevant regulations, and awareness of emerging trends and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information clearly and transparently, building trust with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding unique needs, and providing customized insurance solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, prioritizing tasks, and managing daily responsibilities effectively to meet client needs and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other tools used for client management and communication.
  • A commitment to staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, adhering to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
Education and Experience

Candidates should have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer support or account management position.
  • A High School Diploma/GED.
  • A Virginia Life and Health Insurance License.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
