Position Overview:
The Senior Manager for Open Innovation in AI will spearhead efforts to explore and cultivate external collaborations that enhance Samsung's product ecosystem. This role focuses on leveraging innovative AI technologies to create transformative solutions that align with Samsung's vision of delivering exceptional consumer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on emerging AI technologies from startups, academic institutions, and government entities to identify potential collaboration opportunities.
- Develop strategic business cases that highlight the value of innovative AI solutions for Samsung's diverse product lines, including mobile devices, home appliances, and more.
- Establish and nurture relationships with external innovators, venture capitalists, and research institutions to facilitate the integration of breakthrough technologies into Samsung's offerings.
- Act as the primary point of contact between external partners and internal teams, leading discussions and evaluations to drive successful partnerships and commercialization efforts.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Proactively address challenges and uncertainties through strategic planning and execution, ensuring projects remain on track.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology or engineering field is required; advanced degrees (MS, PhD, or MBA) are preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in AI, either in product development, management, or as an analyst/investor in the technology sector.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships across various stakeholders.
- A strong network within the technology and startup community.
- Experience managing complex projects that involve multiple teams across different geographical locations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required for business purposes.
