Job Title: Research Technologist

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly skilled Research Technologist to join our team in the School of Medicine. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for overseeing and conducting positive reinforcement training, socialization, and enrichment evaluation with laboratory animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement training plans for nonhuman primates to ensure cooperation with experimental and veterinary manipulations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, behaviorists, and animal care staff to plan and implement training and sampling schedules for macaques on research studies.
  • Collect in vivo samples from macaques under sedation and voluntarily from trained animals without sedation.
  • Process, store, and log in vivo samples after procurement, as needed.
  • Monitor the psychological well-being of macaques and report any concerns to behavioral and veterinary specialists.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience conducting research projects and organizing and analyzing data.
  • At least one year of related experience working with nonhuman primates in a captive setting.

Starting Salary Range: $26.25 HRLY ($43,680 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
