We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Assistant to join our team at West Virginia University Hospitals. As a Dietary Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality food and service to our patients and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare all work areas for operation, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Set up, restock, and clean assigned areas, adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Produce and maintain quality food and beverage products, utilizing standardized recipes and portion control.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers, taking orders, and serving food in a timely and efficient manner.
- Follow menu cycles, utilize leftovers, and maintain accurate records of food production and inventory.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality food and service, adhering to departmental policies and guidelines.
- Valid Food Service Worker Permit from Monongalia County Health Department prior to starting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pull a fully loaded patient meal cart (approx. 250 lbs).
- Ability to stand for entire shift and work in a fast-paced environment.
The work environment is dynamic, with the ability to work in a hot, cold, and/or wet environment. Interaction with customers is expected in some assignments, and the ability to understand written and oral communication is necessary.
