About the Team and Role:

eBay Live represents a groundbreaking approach to selling on eBay, enabling real-time interactions between sellers and buyers through live video. Sellers on eBay can build trust with buyers, broaden their customer base, and enhance repeat business through engaging live streams. Buyers can view, interact, ask questions, provide feedback, vote, and make purchases during these live selling events.

Currently in the beta phase, we have successfully conducted several livestream commerce events with select eBay sellers in recent months. As this initiative grows, we are seeking a skilled Livestream Operations Coordinator to join this exciting program and play a crucial role in driving its scale and success. This position will support livestreaming operations in a rapidly evolving operational landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Seller Support:

  • Assist sellers in planning and promoting their livestream events, both prior to and following the event.
  • Manage event calendars in collaboration with sellers and cross-functional teams at eBay, providing feedback on event density, formats, new use cases, and guidance for successful event execution.

Livestream Event Production Support:

  • Provide in-person support for priority livestream events (travel may be required) through event curation, programming, and seller communication.
  • Oversee technical setups for live streams, including hardware, software configurations, lighting adjustments, and other essential technical elements.

Operations Playbook & Automation:

  • Develop and implement operational processes to enhance livestream commerce on eBay.
  • Create best-in-class practices for livestreaming in hosting, programming, and production setups (including tools).
  • Manage the seller onboarding process, including vetting applications and introducing new sellers to livestreaming on eBay.

External Seller Communications:

  • Facilitate ongoing communications with sellers participating in eBay Live events, adhering to established communication protocols and supporting workflow automation as the initiative scales.
  • Enhance user engagement and growth by executing specific engagement strategies, such as social content/event highlights and fostering exclusive seller/influencer partnerships with eBay.

Ensuring Trust and Operational Safety:

  • Collaborate with legal, analytics, product, and operations teams to develop and implement policies and processes that safeguard buyers and sellers.
  • Investigate reports of abuse, fraud, or inappropriate behavior during live streams, taking appropriate actions as per approved operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in technical operations, preferably within a commerce marketplace or social commerce environment.
  • Experience with streaming platforms such as YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, etc., is preferred.
  • Proficiency in broadcast software for producing livestream/broadcast events, including display graphics, remote camera feeds, and audio mixing.
  • Prior experience in creating and implementing operational processes with a strong focus on customer empathy.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and a proactive approach to tasks.

Travel Requirement: Up to 30% travel may be necessary.

The compensation range for this position is expected to be between $88,000 and $137,500, depending on various individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as bonuses and stock options, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
