Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Setup Specialist to join our team at Schneider Electric. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate equipment to specified tolerances in the stamping and molding departments.
  • Inspect parts to blueprints and secure first-piece approval before running.
  • Weigh, identify, and transport parts and materials.
  • Notify supervisor when materials, parts, tools, and equipment are not functioning properly or of the desired quality.
  • Check safety devices to ensure they are in place and functioning properly.
  • Maintain and lubricate presses, dies, molds, equipment, and related tooling.
  • Obtain and place raw stock or parts in designated locations.
  • Load and operate presses or dies with designated material.
  • Place materials, parts, tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and equipment in proper locations.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs.
  • Conduct periodic quality checks following inspection procedures.
  • Segregate and dispose of scrap and offal by type of material.
  • Record information on forms for record keeping purposes.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Handle plant waste, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to pass a skills assessment test on reading and writing comprehension, math skills, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to meet production requirements and maintain part quality.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and read blueprints.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures to inspect parts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including verbal and written English.
  • Ability to work safely and use good judgment.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations and solve problems.
  • Ability to multitask and work well around others.
  • Ability to use standard tools and operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
