Job Overview

An Infrastructure Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in collaborating with the Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture to guide, align, and advocate for the technological vision and roadmap of Ent Credit Union. This position works closely with Enterprise Architects, IT leadership, and business units to ensure that technology strategies effectively support business objectives and member needs both now and in the future.

The Infrastructure Solution Architect is tasked with developing technology solutions that align with the long-term strategic goals of the organization. Responsibilities include crafting solution architecture diagrams, defining architectural frameworks, compiling research notes, generating reports on industry best practices, and delivering presentations. This role also entails providing indirect leadership throughout the phases of solution ideation, design, and implementation, while effectively communicating architectural concepts to stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic IT Solutions Development: Generate solution architecture documentation that aligns with the technology roadmap. Ensure that architectures are adaptable, scalable, and responsive to changes across the organization. Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to review architecture artifacts, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards. Provide insights on tools and technologies that enhance operational efficiency and performance. Conduct research on industry-leading technologies to inform business partners and influence organizational direction.
  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Develop solution architecture documents and work collaboratively to ensure alignment with business and technology strategies. Participate in the Architecture Review Board to evaluate solution architecture with stakeholders from Enterprise Architecture, IT, and business units. Assist in establishing new processes within IT that support enterprise architecture functions.
  • Engagement with Business Leaders: Partner with line-of-business leaders to comprehend their technological requirements and strategic goals.
  • Cost Management and Vendor Relations: Assess solutions that contribute to reducing IT costs. Collaborate with key vendors and partners to meet project timelines and explore cost-saving opportunities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain awareness of and adhere to Ent policies and procedures, particularly those related to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in complex technical environments, including:
    • 5+ years in architecting or engineering solutions for on-premises data centers, server infrastructure, or networking.
    • 3+ years in architecting intricate solutions within public cloud environments.
    • 3+ years of experience in a solution architect role or a similar capacity.

Each year of relevant experience may substitute for a year of education in a related degree program.


Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in solution architecture and design methodologies.
  • Broad understanding of various technology platforms and their application to business and technical challenges.
  • Strong grasp of technology best practices, solution design, and systems integration.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to foster consensus among technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • (Preferred) Experience in the financial services sector or similarly regulated industries.

Certifications:
  • Relevant technical certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, BIAN) are preferred.
  • Relevant technical certifications in public cloud solution architecture are preferred.

Work Environment:
  • Occasional standing and walking.
  • Frequent sitting.
  • Rarely lifting or carrying heavy objects.
  • Regular communication and coordination with team members.
