Job Overview

Elk Hill Farm, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for youth in our care. You will work collaboratively with our treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide guidance and support to youth, and facilitate group activities and community service projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to youth in our residential program, including daily living skills, education, and recreational activities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Facilitate group activities and community service projects to promote socialization, teamwork, and life skills.
  • Provide guidance and support to youth in crisis, including de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure continuity of care and services.
  • Document progress and provide regular updates to the treatment team and supervisors.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with youth in a residential or group home setting.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, behavior management, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance and support to youth in crisis.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
