Job Title

Custodian I, II, III: Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene Standards

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of various locations. This includes dusting and damp mopping using germicidal techniques to prevent the spread of illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dust and damp mop all areas using germicidal techniques to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Sweep and keep facility entranceways, rooms, common areas, and restrooms free from debris and trash
  • Remove trash and dispose of waste materials in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Vacuum and spot clean carpets to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Operate industrial cleaning machines to achieve optimal results
  • Restock and clean restrooms using germicide solution to prevent the spread of illness
  • Maintain custodial supplies in assigned storage areas to ensure efficient operation
  • Ensure health and safety rules are adhered to at all times to safeguard employees and clients
Requirements
  • Ability to work at various locations within Hampton Roads when needed
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety
  • Ability to operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position
  • Ability to use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication
  • Ability to perform work involving regular physical activity, observe safety requirements, and adhere to safe work practices and methods
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $35,000 to $45,000 per year, depending on experience.
