Job Summary:The Industrial Maintenance Technician will utilize industrial technology to diagnose equipment failures, apply engineering concepts for optimization of production, and maintain our current industrial baking equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend and participate in pre-shift production meetings to ensure a smooth start to production.
- Participate in and adhere to all food safety and safety programs to maintain a safe working environment.
- Complete assigned Alchemy courses to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair designated equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal production.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient production.
- Inspect equipment and conduct routine and preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures.
- Recognize waste and recommend initiatives for elimination or reduction to improve efficiency.
- Machining, fabrication, and pipe fitting skills are required to modify and repair piping systems and equipment.
- Facility maintenance, including HVAC equipment, plant compressed air equipment, and boiler plant equipment, is also a key responsibility.
- Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
- Maintain tools and test equipment and ensure they are properly calibrated.
- Collaborate with management on equipment modifications and work with vendors to ensure proper operation.
- Remove old equipment and install new machines to maintain a modern and efficient production environment.
- Provide technical support and training on new equipment to ensure a smooth transition.
- Respond to internal customer call-outs to ensure timely resolution.
- Adhere to all GMPs, Safety, and Environmental regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience in servicing diagnostic imaging equipment is required.
- Experience in Rockwell Software is a plus.
- Must be knowledgeable of and capable of working on various food manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of EPA and OSHA guidelines is essential.
- Ability to fabricate, maintain, and work with bakery equipment (ovens, mixers, conveyors, high-speed wrappers, etc.) is required.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems is necessary.
- Ability to read system schematics, blueprints, and specifications is required.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and understanding of safety and equipment procedures are essential.
- Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process is required.
- Proficient level of computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Resourceful, with the ability to work independently, is essential.
- Strong time management skills and decision-making, problem-resolution, and creative thinking skills are necessary.
- Attention to detail and ethical and trustworthy behavior are required.
The production area can vary in temperature, either cool or warm, depending on the season, and may be humid in the summer months. Concrete floors can be slippery, especially when wet. Intact senses of sight, with corrective lenses, are necessary.
