Job Title: Security Officer

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce alcohol perimeter and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Control access to events and ensure attendees are 21 years or older
  • Conduct ID checks and pat-down searches for alcohol compliance
  • General Property Security, including securing property before, during, and after events
  • Respond to fire and burglar alarms as necessary
  • Deal with guests and other individuals under varying circumstances
  • May be required to transport guests in shuttle vans
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
  • Set up, tear down, and cleanup of events
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Previous security experience is helpful but not required
  • Previous guest service experience is helpful but not required
  • Must be able to communicate and handle confrontational and intoxicated event attendees
  • Must have a high tolerance to remain level under pressure and in stressful situations
  • Must think and work as a team player
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's Service Excellence standards
  • Must successfully complete a background check
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing; Spanish a plus
  • Must stand for long periods of time
  • Must bend down to frisk for hidden alcohol on guests attending events
  • Expected to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must work mostly outdoors, sometimes in extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather
Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
