Job Summary:

We're seeking a detail-oriented Disaster Recovery Specialist to help us create and document disaster recovery plans, including a detailed DR runbook. The ideal candidate will be able to identify downtime threats, develop preventative measures, and establish operational procedures and protocols to minimize downtime during disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • DR Plan Development:
    • Create and maintain tailored disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Document Risk Assessment Details:
    • Analyze risks and identify threats to networks, systems, and data to inform our disaster recovery strategies.
  • Develop Testing and Training Plans:
    • Conduct regular tests and train staff on recovery procedures to ensure seamless execution.
Technical Skills and Technologies:
  • Expertise in data backup and recovery, incident response, documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Acronis), networking (firewalls, routers, switches), storage systems (SAN, NAS), database management (SQL, Oracle), monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Splunk), and scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in disaster recovery or business continuity.
  • Strong understanding of recovery principles, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
