Job Summary

SMART is seeking a skilled Electronic Equipment Repairperson to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical and electronic fare handling devices, electronic control devices, signage, public address, radio, video camera, and audio recording equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain mechanical and electronic fare handling equipment.
  • Perform lock changes, clear jams, and perform first-level electronic systems repairs.
  • Write repair schedules and maintain complete and up-to-date repair records.
  • Perform cleaning and manufacturer-prescribed preventative maintenance on fare handling and other electronic equipment.
  • Requisition replacement parts and maintain inventory in a secured area.
  • Provide electronic system diagnostic and repair instruction to less experienced team members.

Requirements:

  • High school education supplemented by four years of experience in electronic vehicle electrical systems, including ASE Certification (H6) and electrical/electronic systems education.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Mechanic or equivalent position.
  • Machine repair, sheet metal fabrication, and experience in repair of vehicular electronic systems and other electronic devices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
