Job Description

At Amazing Explorers Academy, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in managing and supervising a class of children, creating a learning environment that promotes social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow daily schedules and implement curriculum, communicating and interpreting verbally and in writing in the English language.
  • Maintain accurate child observation records and anecdotal notes for use during parent/teacher conferences.
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments periodically to ensure children are on track developmentally.
  • Interact with children and model socially appropriate behavior in the classroom and on the playground.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with families in a polite and respectful manner.
  • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, documenting any accidents/incidents accordingly.
  • Supervise all children, maintaining a secure and safe environment for children to play and learn.
  • Maintain proper daily attendance records using digital technology in the classroom.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • Meet state licensing requirements for education, including maintaining in-service hours as required by state licensing agencies or accrediting bodies.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Prefer experience in a licensed or accredited child care center.
  • Prefer Staff Credential or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
