French Interpreter

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-time French Interpreter to join our team at Siouxland Community Health Center.
About the Role:The successful candidate will provide translation services and support non-English speaking patients and their families during clinical visits. They will work closely with medical staff to ensure accurate communication and understanding between patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide translation services for patients and families during clinical visits
- Assist patients in completing intake forms, including demographic and medical history, and financial verification
- Work with social service workers and patients to complete social service intake processes
- Travel to local agencies or hospitals to provide interpreting services as needed
- Fluency in verbal, reading, and written French and English
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology in French and English
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Knowledge of cultural barriers to medical care and ability to diminish barriers
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience interpreting preferred
