HVAC Controls Engineer

As a skilled HVAC Controls Engineer - Automation Design, you will be responsible for designing building automation systems and creating project submittals/shop drawings using project plans and specifications. You will also identify any gaps or ambiguity in the project and submit RFIs as required. Additionally, you will establish/maintain unique customer standards while working on design/build and plan/spec projects alike.
Key Responsibilities

Establish/maintain unique customer standards while working on design/build and plan/spec projects alike.
Develop project bill of materials and provide equipment logistics/support.
Mentor new employees and assist in their growth.
Select and order controllers and devices for projects.
Write control sequences and coordinate design intent with programmer.
Provide operational and technical support/direction to field operations and subcontractors.
Obtain field markups and revise the shop drawings with any changes for owner records.
Maintain backups of all project documentation including record drawings on Procore.
Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Engineering Manager / Project Manager with recommendation for resolution.
Requirements
Associate's degree in related engineering/technology field required, bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
In lieu of engineering/technical degree, a combination of verifiable DDC specific training and two or more years of experience will be considered.
DDC or PLC design experience preferred.
Strong understanding of low voltage electrical wiring.
Experience in engineering, design, or maintenance of HVAC systems.
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of commercial electrical, HVAC, and control theory.
Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.
