Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

At Softcom Systems Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team. As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for managing large caseloads, maintaining calendars, and drafting pleadings and discovery responses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate multiple attorneys and team members to ensure timely and efficient case management.
  • Maintain and update calendars, docket, and deadlines to ensure compliance with court requirements.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery responses, and document production with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze and summarize large volumes of medical records and other evidence to support case strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, claims adjusters, opposing counsel, courts, and experts to ensure seamless case management.
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and mediations to ensure timely and efficient case progression.
  • E-file through eFileTexas and PACER to ensure compliance with electronic filing requirements.
  • Meet or exceed monthly billable hour requirement of at least 120 hours to ensure optimal case management.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a high degree of commitment, honesty, and integrity in all aspects of case management.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of insurance defense litigation experience to ensure expertise in case management.
  • Paralegal certificate and/or college experience preferred to ensure strong foundation in case management principles.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a team or independently to ensure effective case management.
  • Critical thinking skills to display initiative and adaptability in case management.
  • Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and hard-working to ensure optimal case management.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure professional, prompt, and excellent attendance in case management.
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to ensure efficient case management.
  • Experienced with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Team, and WebEx to ensure seamless case management.
  • Knowledgeable of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome web browsers, PDF compatible software, and related productivity applications to ensure efficient case management.
  • Experienced with LexisNexis, Coyote Analytics, or similar billing and calendaring software to ensure optimal case management.
