Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at WestRock. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties on facility equipment
  • Locate, diagnose, and repair malfunctions of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, water and starch piping systems, including pumps, valves, and cylinders
  • Perform various inspections and testing on plant systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Common troubleshooting and repair of AC/DC drives, PLCs, electrical systems to 480 volts, electrical equipment, piping systems, plant machinery, and plant equipment
  • Respond to emergency machine breakdowns in a timely manner
  • Complete assigned tasks correctly and within the allotted time
  • Perform necessary procedures to maintain parts stores inventory system
  • Complete a Maintenance Pre-Task Hazard Assessment, work orders, and part requests
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Documentation of 100 hours of electrical training required
  • Strong technical, electrical, and mechanical experience preferred
  • Some computer skills are required with an emphasis on programmable controllers
  • 100 hours education in Electrical Maintenance, military equivalent, or electrical state certification
  • Should have experience troubleshooting and programming VFDs & Servo drives
  • Formal training with industrial electrical, electrical controls 24VDC - 480VAC
Working Knowledge
  • Operations, services, and activities of all areas of mechanical or electrical maintenance
  • All equipment and supplies commonly used in the mechanical or electrical trade
