Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our residents by providing direct care services, including medication distribution and administration.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct resident care services, including medication distribution and administration, in accordance with individualized care plans.
- Perform resident evaluations and assessments as required by state standards and facility policy.
- Observe residents for changes in condition and report any concerns to the Director of Nursing or Executive Director.
- Assist with completing and maintaining current individualized care plans for each resident.
- Participate in interdisciplinary resident care meetings and provide timely interventions as needed.
- Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing, and transfers.
- Participate in the oversight and management of the medication delivery system, including timely order entry, receipt, and tracking.
- High School Diploma or GED and current state certification for corresponding role (Certified Medication Technician (CMT), Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Level 1 Med Aide (L1MA), Level 1 Med Aide (L1MA) - insulin certified).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- At least one (1) year of related work experience, preferably in senior care, and a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living care.
- Ability to work well with others, take direction from management, and take initiative to ensure resident needs are met.
- Must remain flexible and have the ability to work weekends as necessary.
