Donation Attendant

About the Role:
The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our team at the SF ARC store. As a key member of our retail team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive shopping and donor experience, enhancing customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, while contributing to the success of our Adult Rehabilitation Program.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Assist donors in the receipt of donated items and provide receipts.
- Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers and stack material as instructed by the Supervisor.
- Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
- Inform the Supervisor of needed items prior to running out.
- Secure and lock the Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED preferred.
- Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to move product up to 75lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Work Schedule:
Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employees must be flexible to always ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
