Our team is dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic procedures, including in-house testing and external laboratory services. Our facility features a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, X-ray capabilities, ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas and grooming services.
Our MissionWe strive to offer sound advice and optimal veterinary care, enabling pet owners to enjoy their companions for a maximum number of years. Our goal is to treat pets when they're not feeling well and help owners learn how to keep their pets happy and healthy.
Hours of OperationWe are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 8am to 12pm.
CompensationThe salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000.
Job SummaryThe Practice Manager will report to the Regional Director of Operations and be responsible for managing all essential business functions in the veterinary practice. This includes driving revenue growth, managing expenses, and developing and maintaining salary schedules and job evaluations for all employees. The Practice Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and laws, including OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, and the Department of Labor.
Key Responsibilities- Drive revenue growth for the practice
- Manage expenses, including drugs and supplies, labor, and facility costs
- Assist in developing and maintaining salary schedules and job evaluations for all employees
- Provide input on an annual budget
- Triage in-house human resource issues and collaborate with the Heartland Human Resources team
- Establish and execute performance evaluations
- Establish internal operating procedures for the administration of the practice to ensure accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports
- Partner with the MDVM to ensure all team members are adhering to practice operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws
- Ability to work on weekends when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous management experience is required
- Previous veterinary medicine experience is preferred
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Oversee OSHA safety techniques, including the use of proper PPE
- Computer skills, including MS Office applications
- Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
