Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Controller to join our team at Restaurant Depot. As an Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our physical inventory, maintaining a positive company image, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inventory Management: Maintain the accuracy of the physical inventory at the branch, use a scan gun to obtain information, and make decisions on pricing to ensure gross margins are maintained.
  2. Communication: Communicate margin issues to buyers and follow up for timely response, review sales price differential reports, and make changes as needed.
  3. Training and Development: Train all staff for inventory purposes, prepare and conduct semi-annual inventories, and supervise Stock-taker.
  4. Inventory Control: Coordinate Inventory Control with the Receiving, Perishables, Dry Goods Floor, and Front End to ensure low stock, out of stock, negative on hand, and computer inventory is correct.
  5. Reporting and Analysis: Report shrink and research causes, control markdowns and voids, and analyze and determine reasons for negative inventory and margins.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in retail or wholesale, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, and background in Physical Inventory maintenance/control.
  2. Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven leadership skills, ability to supervise and direct employees, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  3. Technical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, PC literate, and working knowledge of MS Office.
Work Environment

The Inventory Controller will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with moderate ambient temperatures, and will need to perform inventory in refrigerated areas and freezers. The position will also involve industrial vehicles moving material throughout the warehouse.
