Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care in our CVOR department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the healthcare team in providing safe patient care, anticipating the needs of surgeons and the healthcare team.
  • Perform duties in moderate to high acuity surgical cases, exhibiting surgical skills for progressively more difficult cases and demonstrating efficient, organized surgical plans.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to team goals by collaborating with healthcare providers.
  • Prepare the operative suite and maintain a sterile field for patient safety, gathering required instruments and supplies.
  • Perform counts with circulator and participate in procedure pauses/time-outs to ensure safety.
  • Scrub, gown, and glove; assist with sterile draping and maintain an organized back table during surgeries.
  • Prepare sterile dressings and handle specimens post-procedure.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization and proactively plan for upcoming procedures.
  • Partner with patients and conduct bedside shift reports; assist in transporting and comfortably and safely caring for patients.

Requirements:
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in CVOR setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
