**Job Description:**

- Function under the direction of a registered professional nurse in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care.
- Perform duties within moderate to high acuity surgical cases, understanding anatomy, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to anticipate surgical needs and demonstrate additional surgical skills for complex cases.
- Efficiently organize and execute surgical plans; discuss plans with team members proactively.
- Troubleshoot instruments and equipment and anticipate additional supplies or equipment for procedures.
- Mentor, precept, or train in various modalities and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Prepare operative suite and surgical field, maintain sterile conditions, and assist as a surgical assistant when required.
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations, including patient safety, asepsis principles, and financial stewardship.
- Provide relationship-based patient care consistent with specific population characteristics under supervision.
- Promote team spirit, positive work environment, and serve as a patient advocate.
- Support performance improvement initiatives, practice development, and participate in new training.
- Manage surgical equipment, maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and assume responsibilities as assigned.
- Complete all competencies, mandatory education, and continuing education related to the field.
