About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team at Stamford Veterinary Center and My Pet Lodge.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a keen eye for detail. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to our furry clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional animal handling skills and build strong relationships with pet owners
- Independently perform all grooming tasks, including bathing, drying, ear cleaning, brushing, de-matting, and breed-standard cuts
- Groom and style pets according to owner instructions and/or breed standards
- Stay up-to-date with the latest grooming trends and techniques
- Develop long-term relationships with pet owners by understanding their needs and recommending products and services
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming environment, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety
- Keep accurate records of grooming details for each visit
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in pet grooming or styling, with proficiency in scissoring and clipper work
- Excellent animal handling skills and ability to understand animal behavior
- Ability to operate and use all grooming tools and equipment
- Formal training or certification is desired
