Job Overview

As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness in your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose vehicle issues through thorough inspection of components.
  2. Execute routine maintenance tasks, including fluid replacements and part lubrication, to improve vehicle performance and lifespan.
  3. Organize and schedule future maintenance appointments.
  4. Provide detailed estimates regarding costs, timeframes, and efforts required for repairs or maintenance.
  5. Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and resolve mechanical issues.
  6. Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed and issues encountered.
  7. Ensure tools and equipment are kept in optimal condition.
  8. Carry out various tasks such as loading and unloading materials and operating equipment as necessary.
  9. Strategically plan routes to maximize efficiency in time and resource use.
  10. Travel to vendors or other locations for parts and vehicle pickups.
  11. Drive to designated locations to service vehicles, utilizing a company-provided vehicle.
  12. Assist in preparing items for delivery.
  13. Adhere to safety and security protocols in all tasks.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
  15. Accurately complete all necessary documentation.
  16. Follow all safety measures to protect against potential hazards.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Role: This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
Work will primarily take place indoors in a garage setting, with exposure to outdoor conditions when servicing vehicles.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, with additional requirements for bending, climbing, and operating machinery.

In this role, you will frequently use your hands for various tasks, stand, and walk throughout your shift.

Position Type and Hours: This is a full-time role with standard working hours.

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to service vehicles and procure parts is expected.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship.
  • Valid certifications (e.g., ASE) are advantageous.
  • A valid Class B CDL is a plus.
  • Experience with diesel and gas engine repairs, as well as hydraulic systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle components.
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools and methodologies.
