Job DescriptionJob Description1. CMM Operation and Programming:1. Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using industry-standard software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent.2. Develop, modify, and optimize CMM programs to inspect complex stamped and welded automotive components and assemblies.3. Ensure CMM inspections are performed with high accuracy and in accordance with engineering specifications and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.2. Metrology and Inspection:1. Conduct precise dimensional inspections of stamped and welded parts, assemblies, and fixtures using CMM and other precision measuring tools.2. Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure consistent and reliable measurements.3. Analyze measurement data, identify deviations or defects, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues.3. Quality Assurance:1. Develop and maintain detailed inspection plans, work instructions, and other documentation related to metrology processes.2. Ensure all measurement activities are in compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality standards.3. Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues related to stamping and weld assembly processes.4. Data Analysis and Reporting:1. Analyze and interpret CMM data, generating comprehensive reports and providing feedback to engineering, production, and quality teams.2. Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods and other quality tools to monitor and improve process performance.3. Maintain detailed records of all inspections, calibrations, and quality data for traceability and continuous improvement purposes.5. Process Improvement and Problem-Solving:1. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of metrology operations.2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize stamping and welding processes, ensuring alignment with quality objectives.3. Stay informed about advancements in metrology technology and recommend upgrades or changes to improve measurement capabilities.6. Training and Mentorship:1. Train and mentor junior technicians and other team members in CMM operation, programming, and metrology best practices.2. Share expertise in stamping and welding processes to support continuous learning and development within the team.7. Compliance and Safety:1. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment within the metrology lab and on the production floor.2. Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, and meet all customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications:1. Experience:1. 10-15 years of experience in CMM operation, programming, and metrology within the automotive stamping and weld assembly processes industry.2. Proven expertise in CMM software, particularly PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar platforms.3. Extensive knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application in stamping and welding inspection processes.2. Education:1. Associate degree or technical certification in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is a plus.2. Relevant certifications in CMM programming and operation (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician) are highly desirable.3. Skills:1. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.2. Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and weld assembly blueprints.3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to generate clear and concise reports.4. Proficiency in using statistical tools and software for data analysis (e.g., Minitab, Excel).4. Attributes:1.
