Job Summary

Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a skilled Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to provide high-quality homecare services to patients and families in the Salt Lake City and Tooele counties area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and thorough documentation of patient records consistent with agency standards.
  • Practice within the scope of practice and comply with all policies, laws, licensure, regulations, and standards for care pertaining to the delivery of home care services.
  • Demonstrate competent theoretical and technical skills pertinent to patient populations being served, including dysphagia, speech-language pathology, communication skills, cognition, voice, and feeding skills.
  • Demonstrate compliance with patient care coordination, including weekly and monthly chart audits, utilization, infection control, improvement in corrective action plans, and attendance at staff and training meetings.
  • Follow the patient care process, including identifying and evaluating functional and rehabilitative needs, identifying and prioritizing patient needs, developing and implementing appropriate care plans and goals, adjusting and updating care plans as needed, coordinating patient care with other disciplines, providing education to patients and families, and consistently following established care plans.
  • Demonstrate the efficient use of resources by effectively managing time, supplies, and equipment and meeting established productivity standards.
Requirements
  • Valid and current Utah Speech-Language Pathology License.
  • Current driver's license, insured, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Ability to access the internet or a phone line for transferring patient files twice a day.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current certificate of clinical competence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Infant feeding experience.
  • 1 year of experience.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a homecare setting, providing services to patients and families in the Salt Lake City and Tooele counties area.
