JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Field Service Engineer II is responsible for the repair, maintenance, testing, and calibration of intricate diagnostic imaging equipment and systems, ensuring their safe and efficient operation.
This role encompasses a variety of systems, including CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Cath systems, with a strong emphasis on maximizing patient safety through the effective use and operational performance of medical equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures, and industry standards, utilizing specialized testing equipment, tools, and simulation devices.
- Maintains, services, troubleshoots, and calibrates diverse diagnostic imaging systems by referencing manufacturer service manuals, schematic diagrams, and vendor expertise.
- Evaluates the most effective repair methods based on clinical requirements and cost considerations.
- Documents all service activities, performance evaluations, and corrective maintenance in compliance with departmental policies, employing computerized maintenance management software and standard office applications.
- Responsible for ordering repair components, ensuring timely return of necessary parts, and submitting relevant order documentation promptly.
- Assists with projects related to the installation, relocation, and disposal of medical imaging equipment and systems.
- Engages in effective communication with customers using various tools to build rapport with staff and keep clinical personnel informed about repair statuses.
- Collaborates with imaging equipment service providers to facilitate efficient installations and repairs.
- Participates in the development of departmental and hospital-wide continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Suggests enhancements to PM schedules, testing procedures, and documentation formats.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Proficient in repairing, maintaining, testing, and calibrating complex diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Capable of traveling to various facilities to assist with scheduled and unscheduled service tasks.
- Effective communicator with the ability to interact positively with customers, providers, and team members.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
- Strong self-management skills regarding time and project assignments.
- Physical capability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Knowledgeable in computer systems and networking.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Associate's Degree or 2 years of relevant work experience above the minimum qualification.
EXPERIENCE
- 4 years of experience required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
- Must possess a valid driver's license or obtain one within 90 days of hire.
