Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of High School Building Custodian at Watertown Public Schools. As a member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of our school facilities.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs throughout the school building and its grounds. They will also be required to communicate effectively with the senior custodian and director of public buildings to ensure that all necessary tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain classrooms, bathrooms, offices, cafeteria, gymnasiums, stairwells, hallways, and other spaces within the building and its exterior
  • Perform repairs, light maintenance, and preventative maintenance on buildings, building systems, furniture, and equipment as needed
  • Remove building rubbish, snow, and clear sidewalks
  • Move furniture and school supplies as needed
  • Respond quickly to facility emergencies, sanitary needs, or principal requirements
  • Communicate with the senior custodian and director of public buildings through meetings, emails, and phone calls


Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Valid D-class driver's license
  • Ability to use email and work order system (on a computer) and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Maximum lifting requirement is 45 pounds


Estimated Salary Range: $42,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience
