We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources Department at the Corporate Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the accounting and administration of our benefit programs and performing advanced payroll functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Process multi-state and corporate payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including processing voluntary and involuntary deductions, such as levies and garnishments.
  • Prepare accounting transactions, verifying proper accounts are affected and accruals are accurate.
  • Act as liaison with divisional payroll clerks, responding to technical questions and troubleshooting payroll processing issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and perform other duties as required.
Benefits Administration:
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including profit sharing and retirement savings plans, health and dental plans, life and disability plans, family medical leave, cafeteria plan, stock plans, and other benefits.
  • Administer company HIPAA privacy and security policies as appropriate.
  • Present employee benefit topics at employee meetings, company picnics, and other company events.
  • Process new hire enrollments, terminations, and changes, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Perform E-Verify on corporate new hires and act as divisional back-up.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent technical training.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in benefits, payroll, or a combination thereof.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, with the ability to consolidate multiple sets of data.
  • Experience working with UKG and/or Dimension systems a plus.
  • Experience using vendor administrative software, including data entry and reporting, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, auditing concepts, and controls, as well as payroll taxes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and initiative.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and multi-task.
