Your Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests from the Service Resource Center, including a brief overview of equipment/system issues.
  • Engage with customer representatives to identify equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Diagnose and execute repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at client locations.
  • Adhere to established troubleshooting protocols and consult technical manuals, part manuals, and bulletins for equipment repair.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers' Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell.
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service by maintaining clear communication with district staff and clients to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements accurately using communication devices such as smartphones and laptops.
  • Secure customer signatures upon completion of service assignments.
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Assist in training or mentoring fellow service team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications We Seek

Essential:

  • Proven experience with low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and operational manuals.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment, multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Aptitude for working in challenging positions, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to meet client needs.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Maintain inventory on service vehicles to ensure prompt response to client needs.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures consistently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a quick learning ability.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Maintain any necessary licenses as mandated by National, State, and Local regulations.

Preferred:

  • NICET II Certification
