Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

Miami Jewish Health is a leading provider of healthcare and living options for aging adults in the Southeast. Our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility is located on a beautiful 20+ acre campus in Miami.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine and repetitive patient care activities to patients and residents. The successful candidate will maintain standards of nursing care, under the supervision of licensed Nursing personnel, in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department, Miami Jewish Health Systems and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic care to patients under the supervision of a nurse
  • Perform activities of daily living and maintain a comfortable environment
  • Transport residents, supplies, equipment, etc. between the nursing unit and other departments or discharge
  • Document the patient care activities performed on the unit
  • Organize, clean, and maintain the patient/resident units
  • Ensure that resident's/patient's rights are adhered to
  • Participate in departmental activities and follow established guidelines
  • Perform clerical functions for the nursing unit
  • Perform related duties as required
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program
  • Minimum of three months recent experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in a nursing home environment preferred
  • Current CNA license by the Florida State Board of Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
Abilities and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with geriatric patients, residents, family members, employees, and other facility guests
  • Demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients, residents, family members, employees, and other facility guests
  • Demonstrates competency to perform duties effectively for geriatric patients or patients with diminished physical and/or mental capacity
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language
  • Ability to document information concisely and accurately
  • Ability to think and act calmly to handle the unusual occurrences of the job
  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals

The Certified Nursing Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse population of patients and residents. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality and security of patients' medical information.
