Position Overview:
This role is designed for a casual/PRN Sonographer who will provide essential diagnostic imaging services using ultrasound technology. The position requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the varying needs of the healthcare facility.
Location: Bestcare Health Services
Work Schedule:
As a casual/PRN employee, your work hours will fluctuate based on the operational demands. This may include varied shifts, on-call duties, weekends, and possible holiday coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations.
- Manage workflow efficiently to ensure timely patient care.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Engage in clinical enrichment activities to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure optimal patient experiences through compassionate care.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Must be registered or board eligible with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience in general and vascular Sonography is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is strongly preferred at the time of hire, and required within three months of employment.
- ARDMS registration or board eligibility is required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Preferred credentials include RDMS in Abdomen (AD) and OB/GYN.
- Participation in mandatory inservices and continuing education as required by policies and procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
- Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including overtime and on-call responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force as needed.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to various job hazards is minimal but may include occasional risks associated with patient care.
