The Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for developing and executing legal and compliance functions, ensuring that our organization operates in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide Strategic Guidance: Offer expert legal advice to senior leaders, the President and CEO, and the Board of Directors on various matters, including business, labor, nonprofit, intellectual property, real estate, and appellate law.
- Contract Negotiation and Review: Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, requests for proposals, and agreements to ensure that our interests are protected and risks are mitigated.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Evaluate legal documents and contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to minimize exposure.
- Regulatory Affairs: Monitor changes to federal and state regulations, promulgating updates and changes to our organization as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with departments to ensure that public-facing materials are compliant with laws, regulations, and our bylaws and policies.
What We're Looking For
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensure to practice law in California.
- At least 10 years of experience as corporate or senior counsel.
- Proven expertise in regulatory compliance, employment law, and labor relations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
Nice to Have
- Nonprofit law experience.
Salary Range
$180,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience.
