Overview
Position Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering and demonstrating expertise in nursing care, encompassing all facets of practice as outlined by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and reinforced by St. Luke's policies. This role involves planning, delegating tasks to, and organizing nursing staff. The nurse will manage and coordinate communication among patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing education to patients' families and staff while assessing outcomes.
Essential Qualifications: A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as either a BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network is mandatory.

Skills and Competencies: The ideal candidate will possess the ability to serve as a team leader, primary nurse, and role model; communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues; maintain professional development through ongoing education; and support the goals and objectives of St. Luke's.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, patient handling, reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching. The ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds is essential. The work environment may have a moderate noise level.
Work Conditions: The position involves exposure to blood-borne pathogens, interaction with patients in various situations, and the need to respond to emergencies. Irregular hours and pressure from multiple inquiries may also be encountered.
