About the Role:

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Pathologist, you will diagnose and treat conditions that affect an individual's ability to communicate and swallow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations, impairments, and disorders.
  • Provide, interpret, plan, and supervise patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of the patient.
  • Continually review the plan of care and make revisions as needed.
  • Prepare progress reports on all treatments in conjunction with departmental policies and procedures and report to the physician as needed.
  • Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members to assist the patient in treatment techniques.

Requirements:

  • Masters, Doctorate, or SLP-D Degree from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Registered in the State of Florida.
  • License in the State of Florida.
  • ASHA certification.
  • Hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
  • Hold (SP) license in current state upon start date.
  • Hold Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Externship experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with medical speech pathology.
  • Flexibility to float between sites.

Physical Requirements:

Work is medium/frequent lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds without help of mechanical devices or other personnel. Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving patients or equipment into position for treatment. Reaching for, handling, feeling, and manipulation of equipment and patients. Talking and hearing to convey instruction and information to patient and staff member. Visual acuity to perceive reactions to treatment and to follow or read instruction.
