Amerantbank Credit Risk Analyst III Job Description

As a Credit Risk Analyst III at Amerantbank, you will play a critical role in overseeing the Loan Loss Reserves Report and providing the Credit Risk Department with the necessary data to prepare their reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and prepare the Loan Loss Reserves Report, ensuring compliance with approved methodologies and compiling necessary information from credit-related units.
  • Revise loss factors used in the calculation of the LLR, maintaining the Credit data warehouse and providing required data to the Credit Risk department.
  • Coordinate the charge-off approval process and prepare Credit Risk Annual Report and Loan Loss Reserves related schedules for the Bank's annual financial reports.
  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor risks to earnings or capital, making recommendations to the Risk Management Committee to assess, reduce, eliminate, or control these risks.
  • Provide technical support to the Credit Risk Department and prepare ad-hoc presentations and reports.
  • Develop and update the Credit Risk Department's procedures manuals and ensure compliance with current rules, regulations, and internal policies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of banking experience, including 3 years in credit risk, portfolio management, loan review, credit analysis, credit/loan administration, lending, and/or accounting.
  • Knowledge of credit policies, applicable banking regulations, credit processes, and accounting.
  • Working knowledge of database extraction and reports generation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills (written and oral).
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Expertise in using Excel: lookup tables, pivot tables, charts, macros.
  • Ability to work under pressure (tight deadlines and shifting priorities).
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
