Job Overview

Position Summary: The CNC Machining Specialist is responsible for operating and programming CNC machinery to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes and the ability to work independently to solve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, samples, and work orders to set up and adjust tooling and fixtures.
  • Develop and write CNC programs to manufacture parts according to engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machining operations, tools, and materials.
  • Conduct secondary machining operations as necessary.
  • Analyze component configurations to determine the most efficient machining methods.
  • Input computer programs into CNC machines, adjusting speeds and feeds as needed.
  • Oversee the initial production run, making critical adjustments to ensure quality.
  • Operate CNC equipment for various machining tasks including turning, boring, and drilling.
  • Fabricate simple fixtures for machining processes when required.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supervisory staff to address design and operational challenges.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Assist in training junior machinists, providing guidance and support.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves regular use of hands and arms, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may expose employees to moderate noise levels and airborne particles.
