Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team at University of Hawaii FCU. Key Responsibilities
  • Originate and process mortgage loan applications, ensuring timely and accurate completion of loan documents.
  • Conduct loan interviews with prospective borrowers, assessing their creditworthiness and providing guidance on mortgage options.
  • Collaborate with loan underwriters to resolve loan issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with real estate professionals, title companies, and other industry partners to promote our mortgage products.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and product offerings to provide expert advice to borrowers.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, business, or economics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in residential mortgage lending, with a proven track record of success.
  • Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, including fixed-rate and adjustable-rate loans, government-backed loans, and jumbo loans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with borrowers, loan underwriters, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Credit union industry experience.
  • Knowledge of automated underwriting systems and loan origination software.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, including English and Spanish.
