We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at the City of Lansing Parks & Recreation Department. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of pool patrons, enforcing pool rules and regulations, and providing emergency response services as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce pool rules and regulations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons
- Provide emergency response services, including first aid and CPR as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized pool area, including locker rooms and surrounding facilities
- Conduct swim tests and ensure proper sizing of life jackets
- Report incidents, accidents, and rescue situations to the Pool Manager or Aquatics Coordinator
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (r.17 or r.24)
- American Red Cross Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
- MI Mandated Reporter Training
- Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift 150 pounds with assistance and work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
