Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at McWane, a world-class manufacturer of water and wastewater materials. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing assigned tasks for preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs of equipment, systems, and structures with limited electrical interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures personal safety and the safety of team members by following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, referencing manuals and technical documentation as needed.
  • Installs, replaces, changes, or repairs machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Cleans or lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
  • Uses basic cutting and welding skills to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Electronically completes CMMS work orders to identify problems and logging labor hours for time worked per work order.
  • Communicates with supervisor, team lead, and other trades workers to coordinate installations and complete projects or repairs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a vocational certificate program in Industrial Maintenance or related program, or completion of a formal apprenticeship program, or two years' experience in industrial maintenance required.
  • Passing written and hands-on exam to demonstrate competency in mechanical maintenance, primarily hydraulics and pneumatics, pumps and piping, lubrication, and rigging for mechanically driven and electrical industrial machinery.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
