Job Title: Assistant Professor of African-American History

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor of African-American History to join our faculty at Wake Forest University. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a passion for mentoring students.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach introductory-level survey courses in African-American history, as well as upper-level courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
  • Develop and maintain a research program that complements departmental strengths and course offerings.
  • Contribute to departmental service and committee work.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in History or a related field by July 1, 2025.
  • Strong research and teaching record, with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to teach a range of courses, including introductory-level surveys and upper-level courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
