Job Purpose

The US Medical Affairs Leader is responsible for developing and executing the US Medical Affairs strategy and plans, ensuring alignment with commercial asset strategy and global medical matrix. This role is critical to the overall success of the medicine and in ensuring patients benefit from scientific advancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute US medical strategy, ensuring alignment with commercial asset strategy and global medical matrix.
  • Lead the development and execution of the US Medical Affairs Plan, tailoring global asset strategy for US customer needs and environment.
  • Represent the US medical affairs perspective at global medical team and medicine commercialization team meetings, bringing a strong US view on medical strategy and customer needs.
  • Gather and communicate medical insights from internal and external US stakeholders to shape product development decisions and global medical affairs plans.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of asset positioning and evidence planning with the overall therapeutic portfolio and disease area strategies.
  • Lead medical engagement between GSK and external communities to advance scientific and medical understanding.
  • Provide guidance to field medical teams on ISS/SCS areas of interest aligned to US medical strategy.
  • Identify US evidence gaps and drive local evidence generation planning.
  • Manage budget and spend targets for the disease area and its assets in the US.

Requirements

We are looking for professionals with the following qualifications:

  • PharmD, PhD, nursing, allied health professional, or other advanced scientific degree.
  • Oncology medical affairs experience.
  • 5 or more years working with medical affairs in a pharmaceutical role.

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Medical degree.
  • Multiple myeloma knowledge and experience.
  • Broad drug development experience with robust knowledge of GCP regulatory and market access requirements.
  • Significant experience in medical affairs and life cycle management, including launch support requirements.
  • Robust understanding of promotional codes and regulations.
  • Highly developed leadership, networking, communication, and influencing skills.
