Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the development of electrical designs for new products, focusing on inverter-based power supplies for the heavy industrial plasma cutting industry. This role requires in-depth knowledge of hardened electrical design practices for industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical aspects of new product designs, requiring significant innovation and a high-level understanding of inverter-based power supplies.
- Design, test, and validate electrical products from concept to manufacture release.
- Appraise the integrity of electrical product designs and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and development techniques, applying them to electrical design.
- Present test and analysis results, design ideas, and technical information to stakeholders.
- Contribute to engineering and product specification, cost estimates, and development schedules.
- Hands-on building and testing of prototype designs.
- Sustain existing products, including troubleshooting field issues and addressing design issues.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to others.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with experience as a technical project leader.
- Printed Circuit Board design and layout expertise.
- Competence in analog control circuits, digital control circuits, inverter power management, data collection, and test methods.
- Technical expertise in five or more of the following: analog control circuits, digital control circuits, digital signal processing, conventional power management, switching power management, power factor correction.
Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time, with additional physical demands.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Moves, transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
- May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
- Domestic Travel up to 15%.
