Job Overview

The Subway Operations Supervisor is responsible for executing all tasks and duties associated with the Associate and Team Leader roles, ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant in the absence of the Franchise Manager. This position emphasizes maintaining food safety standards, overseeing product preparation, ensuring cleanliness, managing inventory control, and training staff effectively. Providing exceptional customer service is a critical aspect of this role.

  • Addresses customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Communicates current and future staffing needs to the District Manager or Store Manager.
  • Employs effective recruitment strategies to attract potential candidates.
  • Utilizes selection tools to ensure the best hiring decisions for the restaurant.
  • Ensures comprehensive training for new hires on all operational aspects.
  • Regularly inspects food preparation and dining areas for cleanliness and compliance.
  • Assists team members in customer interactions, order taking, and food preparation.
  • Facilitates regular meetings with the Store Manager and staff to improve communication and teamwork.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and discussions with employees on a scheduled basis.
  • Creates and posts work schedules in advance for staff awareness.
  • Provides clear and consistent expectations to team members.
  • Establishes written job responsibilities for all positions.
  • Ensures compliance with cleanliness standards for foodservice areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintains all equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Monitors adherence to dress code and health requirements among employees.
  • Offers timely feedback and coaching to motivate staff.
  • Documents employee performance issues as necessary in a timely manner.
  • Oversees inventory levels to ensure efficient stock management.
  • Analyzes food forecasting to optimize sales while controlling food costs.
  • Develops and trains employees to enhance their skills.
  • Reviews management reports and takes necessary actions to maintain balanced inventories.
  • Verifies delivery accuracy to ensure correct orders are received.
  • Ensures product quality and freshness through proper rotation and monitoring.
  • Maintains accurate and visible pricing for all products.
  • Merchandises products according to established guidelines.
  • Ensures products are prepared according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
  • Maintains proper signage and pricing displays.
  • Posts promotional materials in a timely manner.
  • Encourages sales through suggestive selling techniques.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding sales performance and cost opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with state, local, and company health regulations.
  • Adheres to government regulations regarding employment practices.
  • Completes all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory control procedures.
  • Follows all safety and security protocols.
  • Manages labor costs within established guidelines.
  • Controls food costs and other expenses effectively.
  • Maintains adherence to budgeted sales and profit targets.
  • Ensures the Subway Manual is up to date and training materials are accurate.
  • Operates the restaurant within designated hours.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Ability to bend, stand, and walk throughout the workday
• Basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Demonstrates patience and effective communication skills during employee training
• Capable of lifting 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
