Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
  • Assist with anesthesia and surgery, including prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery of patients.
  • Provide ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, obtain dental radiographs with every case, and assist the doctor with oral surgery.
  • Position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
  • Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests; read and record results when indicated.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
  • Ability to endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
