Gulf Fiberoptics Assembly Technician Job Summary

The Assembly Technician will be responsible for various steps in the assembly of medical fiber optic light guide bundles. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all activities assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret drawings and routers to determine correct materials required for assembly.
  • Maintain necessary documentation on work performed following established work instructions or procedures.
  • Perform assembly functions required for tasks assigned following approved processes and training.
  • Rotate among various assembly processes and in-process jobs as required.
  • Follow established procedures and drawing notes to affect compliant assemblies.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work alone and stay on task as required.
  • Ability to work closely with other technicians as required.
  • Patience and perseverance, as some of the work can be challenging.
  • Lift materials of up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Excellent near vision and hand-eye coordination.
  • Bend, stoop, and stretch as required for placement and/or retrieval of materials used in the assembly process.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands.
  • Good arm-hand steadiness and ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Ability to use a microscope and inspection loupes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior work experience in electronics or small assembly.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate/Credential, Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Certification.
