Position Overview

DMC Primary Care is looking for a meticulous individual to become a part of our Medical Records Department. This entry-level full-time role provides health benefits, paid time off, a competitive salary, and a positive work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, categorize, and digitize medical records into the electronic medical records (EMR) system following established guidelines.
  • Handle personal health information (PHI) requests and medical release documentation.
  • Request and relay medical information to and from healthcare providers while adhering to HIPAA regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain medical records and associated correspondence in accordance with company policy.
  • Oversee the EMR fax queue by either indexing into the EMR system or directing to the appropriate department.
  • Manage the flow of interdepartmental, outgoing, and incoming correspondence.
  • Respond to phone inquiries related to medical records.

  • Above-average organizational and interpersonal abilities with a collaborative approach.
  • Proficient computer and communication skills.
  • Exemplification of ethical and professional behavior, including the ability to uphold confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with EMR systems is advantageous.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some prior office experience.
